Throughout his 10-year papacy, Pope Francis has met with countless celebrities.
Below is a short list of 10 celebrities who have known Pope Francis over the years. (There are many others!)
1) Leonardo DiCaprio
Actor and producer Leonardo DiCaprio met with Pope Francis for 15 minutes at the Vatican in 2016. They discussed environmental issues and climate change.

2 and 3) Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
The singer Katy Perry and the actor Orlando Bloom met Pope Francis together in 2018. Both published images of their meeting with the Holy Father.

4) David Henry
Actor David Henrie met Pope Francis in 2018 after he and his wife Maria gave birth to their three babies. They told the Pope about their tests and added that Maria was pregnant with her next baby. The Holy Father told them “don’t worry”.
“I personally asked Pope Francis to pray that Maria and I have a baby,” he said. “He took our hands, held them together, said a special blessing, then looked up and told me not to worry, there was a baby coming.”
The Henrie’s successfully carried their daughter, Pia Philomena Francesca, to term. The couple now have three children.
5) George Clooney
Actor George Clooney met Pope Francis in 2015.
The Holy Father awarded him a medal through his organization, Scholas Occurrentes, a “global network of schools” focused on “the integration of educational communities around the world, with special emphasis on those with fewer resources.”
6) Angelina Jolie
Actress Angelina Jolie briefly met Pope Francis in 2015 after a Vatican screening of her film, “Unbroken.”
7) Mark Wahlberg
Actor and producer Mark Wahlberg met Pope Francis while organizing the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. in 2017.
8) Bonus
U2’s lead vocalist Bono met Pope Francis in both 2018 and 2022. The two discussed education and poverty in 2018. In 2022, they discussed fighting climate change.
9) Arnold Schwarzenegger
Actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger met the Holy Father in 2017 during his Wednesday general audience.
He then said: “It was a great, great honor for me to meet His Holiness Pope Francis. I am a huge fan: not only is he a wonderful leader for the Catholic Church, he is a fantastic steward for all of God’s creatures. His environmental work inspires me and I look forward to working together for a clean energy future.”
10) Andrea Bocelli
Opera singer Andrea Bocelli has met the Holy Father many times in recent years, including in 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2022.
In their 2017 meeting, Bocelli said: “Pope Francis is a source of hope for all of us, he is a blessing bestowed on the world.
