While nothing beats the thrill of reading a book and letting your imagination run wild, there are stories ambitious enough to hit the screen more than once. In an era when movie studios are looking for new epic stories, there are some literary sagas that will return in the seventh art or on television in the form of remakes And reboots. Will they achieve the same success as in previous cases? Here we present the most anticipated adaptations.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Nearly 8 years after the franchise came to an end, a new trip to Panem awaits us. However, don’t expect to find Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson or Liam Hemsworth. Based on the 2020 novel of the same name, this new film is a prequel to the saga starring the rebellious Katniss Everdeen. We meet the young Coriolanus Snow, who, having lost everything in the war with the districts, begins a new life and seeks to restore the status that belonged to his family.
However, first he will have to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a participant in the 12th district in the 10th edition of the Hunger Games. This December, Timothée Chalamet will become the most iconic chocolatier in the seventh art. A few months ago, Lionsgate (the studio that owns the rights to the novels) announced a new film adaptation of the romance between Bella and Edward, but it will be in series format.
Nothing else has been released due to writers’ and actors’ strikes, but it’s certainly a project that could have been very successful. Who should be the ones to play the bad couple?
Harry Potter
For 10 years, the story of Harry, Ron and Hermione has become the most powerful franchise in the Hollywood industry. To date, thousands of fans continue to marathon this story that came out of JK Rowling’s head, and soon they will be able to supplement them with an adaptation in the series format.
The project was announced a few months ago during the presentation of Max, a new service for streaming owned by Warner Bros. discovery. To the delight of fans, Rowling herself will be producing and casting the main characters, so they can look forward to a believable adaptation. Although this new adaptation has been in development for many years, we have received some exciting news recently.
