2-13% faster than Ryzen 7000X3D
Thanks to a leak from MSI, we can now officially talk about performance AMD Ryzen 9000X3D. Apparently, MSI held a special event, inviting certain media outlets to tour its factories, where they showed information about yet-to-be-announced products. And yes, Ryzen 9000X3D processors are one of them.
Performance tests were conducted by MSI’s own technical team and it can be said that both AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D how is he AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. So, it’s time to see the first official performance data. Although MSI indicates that
this performance could be better in the chips used for official reviews and in their final version for sale.
Performance of AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D in Cinebench R23
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D offers a Cinebench R23 single-core performance score of 2,242. What does it represent 9% performance improvement compared to Ryzen 9 7950X3D. In the multi-core version we are talking about 42,377 points, which corresponds to
16% improvement.
In the case of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the performance increase is much more noticeable compared to the 7800X3D. We are talking about 2145 points, which represents a noticeable jump of 18%. In the multi-core version we are talking about 23,317 points, which corresponds to 28% improvement. These noticeable improvements are due to a more noticeable increase in frequencies. And AMD wants this processor to become popular without allowing the Ryzen 7 7800X3D to monopolize virtually all processor sales.
Compared to its non-X3D counterparts, performance was very similar this time around thanks to the increased frequencies. Here’s why the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is barely -1.7% slower in a monokernel and -0.2% in multi-core mode. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is -2.2% slower in single-core, but in multi-core there is 6.5% faster than the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X it is compared to.
Now comes the most important part: the gaming performance of the Ryzen 9000X3D.
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090since Windows 11 24H2 already has 1080p resolution, improved performance It’s very minor about Ryzen 9 7950X3D. We’re talking about +2% performance in “Black Myth: Wukong” +4% in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and +11% in Far Cry 6. So we’re talking about a 2% to 11% improvement, although it would take a lot more games to get a more general idea of its performance.
On the other hand, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 2% faster in Wukong and Tomb Raider compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Be an upgrade in Far Cry 16%. So when it comes down to it, there doesn’t seem to be much difference in performance. So it’s enough that both the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D are cheaper to not justify additional cost Ryzen 9000X3D
taking into account the performance improvement it offers.
So based on this data, there is no added value or a reason to buy the Ryzen 9000X3D. Unless AMD offers very good prices, this probably won’t happen. So, surprises aside, everything seems to indicate that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will continue to outsell the entire Ryzen 9000 series.
