25 years of Columbine, the massacre that shocked America and the world
Eric and Dylan wanted to make history. Inspired by the recent attacks in the United States, and even fantasizing about something that would happen two years later, by crashing planes into New York skyscrapers, these students model the Columbine School Joined the shooting. He killed twelve students and one teacher and injured another 24 classmates before committing suicide. The tragedy shocked the United States, which, with each new massacre, reopens the gun debate. Since Bill Clinton tried unsuccessfully to regulate his tenure, each president has faced controversy, each with his or her own Columbine. Despite the massacre of 32 people at the Blacksburg campus, George Bush didn’t even try. And in the face of Obama’s tears for the 20 children killed at Sandy Hook or Joe Biden’s exhaustion over the Uvalde massacre, a lobby is flexing its power at fairs like Denver. This is where the Columbine killers purchased some of their weapons.
