76-88. Collective triumph to end a double day / San Pablo Burgos

Longuevida San Pablo Burgos triumphed away to Real Betis Baloncesto in a match that remained level until the final quarter, where Jota Cuspinera’s side took the lead to seal the win. The Castilians had a choral performance: almost the entire squad scored, and five players scored in double figures: Luke Fischer, Gonzalo Corbalan, Millan Jimenez, Mika Speight and Dusan Ristic. Thus, the Burgos team adds its twenty-second victory at the LEB Oro circuit.
The match in Seville started at a high tempo (3-6). Burgos’ team was boosted by three-pointers from Mickey Speight and Millan Jimenez, who established a maximum six-point lead (12-18). Joaquín Rodríguez’s contribution brought Betis back into the fight, adjusting the score as much as possible (17-18) and managing to level it at the end of the first quarter (21-21).
The Andalusian team worked on the perimeter and connected on three threes from Richard Kuksiks and Kaspars Berzins to give them a seven-point lead (30-23). The Castilians fought back with a partial score of 0-7, thanks to the work of Jonathan Kasibabu and Dusan Ristic, restoring equality (30-30). The locals took better advantage of their chance and again increased the lead in their favor (43-37). The points of Miha Lapornik and Jimenez went away from the match by the minimum distance by the break (43-42).
Bruno Savignani’s team again increased their lead on their return to the court (47-42), but Longuevida San Pablo Burgos tried to stay in the fight, regained control of the electronics and took advantage of a four-point advantage (51-55). . Dusan Ristic and Roko Rogic maintained the advantage of the visitors (57-62), and the locals scored thanks to free throws and ended the period with a triple from Kuksiks (63-65).
Gonzalo Corbalan took the team on his back and raised the maximum to seven points (66-73). A quick reaction from the Sevilla side brought them close again (71-73), but Burgos’ side latched on to triples from Speight and Barrera and great work from Luke Fischer to close the gap (74-85). With a maximum of twelve points, Longuevida San Pablo Burgos achieved their twenty-second victory of the season (76-88).
