Android is preparing to simplify the process we all hate when changing mobile phones
Restoring an old mobile phone backup to our new smartphone is a process that, depending on the amount of information we store, can take several hours. A scenario that, if we had an emergency, none of us would want to face. Luckily, Android is working to make this process much easier.
Data exchange between two devices allows us to store on the new smartphone all the information that we saved on the old one. Over time, the backups become so accurate that we barely need to familiarize ourselves with a new smartphone to start using it completely normally. However, if we are someone who stores several gigabytes of information inside, it is likely that depending on the connection we will have to wait several hours for the backup to fully install on the new device. Fortunately, Google is preparing a pleasant surprise for all its users.
A new way to transfer data
android users, When we buy a new device, we have three options to transfer data and applications from the old Android to the new one: through a Wi-Fi connection that transfers information, through a cable, or by restoring a backup that we have saved in Google One. However, in all cases we are faced with the same problem: the time required to restore the backup.
According to Android Authority media, it was discovered in the Android code that Google will be testing a new data transfer method that will combine the previous two: Wi-Fi and cable connection. Thus, the goal is to provide the user with greater speed of information transfer from one device to another.
There have been no official communications from Google on this matter yet. Therefore, at the time of writing, we are completely unaware of the scope of this new functionality or approximate dates which are planned to complete the transition. So we’ll have to keep an eye out for when it will officially be available to most users.
Restore at any time
In addition to the above, a second new product called “Restore at any time.” According to the information published by the same media previously mentioned, it is expected that with this new feature, Android users will be able to restore their Android backup at any time, and it does not have to be done at startup. terminal for the first time.
This way we can restore protected copy from another terminal when our new phone is already configured. Although at the moment everything indicates that in order to take advantage of this opportunity we will have to restart the device from which we are copying data. Until both options are visible on our device, we will continue to pay attention to possible new features added with Android updates.
