F1: Emilia Romagna Grand Prix: schedule in Mexico and where to watch Checo Perez’s Formula 1 career
Formula 1 returns to the iconic Imola circuit two years after the last Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was suspended in 2023 due to historic floods that hit the region just days before the race weekend. Free practices
The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will begin on Friday 17 May at 5:30am (Mexico time) with first free practice. The second exit to the track will take place a few hours later, at 9:00 am. A day later, the riders will adjust their strategy in the last free practice at 04:30 on Saturday, May 18.
Quality
The Imola starting grid will be determined on Saturday 18 May at 08:00 am during qualifying, which will consist of three regular qualifying sessions.

Mexico City Grand Prix 2024
One of the Mexican’s worst moments in 2023 came at the start of the Mexico City Grand Prix, when his desire to exit the first corner leading into the race at home sent him into a collision with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari. As a result of the impact, Checo Perez retired from the race without even completing a lap, dashing the hopes of tens of thousands of fans who dreamed of seeing the Red Bull driver at the top of the podium.
