PlayStation VR2 adapter for PC goes on sale on August 7

Sony has announced that the adapter for using the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset on PC will go on sale on August 7 next year, priced at €59.99.

As the Japanese company explained, the helmet will be compatible with “thousands of virtual reality games” from SteamVR, including Half-Life: Alyx, Fallout 4 VR or War Thunder.

It also turned out, and this is important, that there are certain features and functions of the PlayStation VR2 that will only work with the PlayStation 5. This applies, for example, to HDR, head-mounted feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers. and haptic feedback.

On the other hand, 4K resolution (2000×2040 per eye), 110 degree field of view, finger recognition, fovea rendering and 3D audio will work without problems when we play on PC.

Finally, the technical requirements to use PlayStation VR2 on PC will be to have a computer with the following specifications:

  • OPERATING SYSTEMS: Windows 10 64-bit/Windows 11 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-7600/AMD Ryzen 3 3100
  • RAM: 8 GB
