In the mechanical section BMW has reworked the 6-cylinder in-line 3.0 Twin-Turbo engine, increasing power to 480 hp. (+20 hp), raising the maximum torque to 600 Nm (+50 Nm), however, only in trim levels with automatic transmission, since the M2 with a manual transmission will keep the engine torque limited at 550 Nm.
Thanks to the modification of the propeller, The new BMW M2 2024 is 0.1 seconds faster from 0 to 100 km/h., it will take 4 seconds if we install an automatic transmission and 4.2 seconds if we choose a manual transmission. The biggest improvement in performance is seen from 0 to 200 km/h, with times reduced by 0.6 seconds to 12.9 seconds in the M2 automatic transmission and 13.7 seconds in the M2 manual transmission.
The top speed is automatically limited to 250 km/h, although this limitation can be further removed if we buy the optional M Drive package, leaving then maximum speed 285 km/h.
