Popeye has been in Aragon for some time now. This time it’s not the sailor with his eye closed and the superhuman strength that spinach gives: it’s a popular restaurant chain whose logo and distinctive colors are associated with the New York City skyline. Popeye’s is a franchise known around the world for its fried chicken., the star dish that inspired the business to open in 1972. The network is present in thirty countries around the world, with a special focus on the US and Latin American markets. He came to Spain five years ago and is now opening his fourth restaurant in Zaragoza.
The numbers for this new restaurant in Zaragoza in terms of human capital are interesting: 30 new jobs, 120 in total in Aragon. Those who walk along the emblematic Calle Alfonso, either because they are shopping in one of the shops in the area, or want to go to Plaza del Pilar and kiss the Virgen del Pilar, or simply pass by, they already have another fast food place in number 39. Of course, fried chicken has to be one of the favorites at the moment. The restaurant is known for its signature chicken with an authentic Louisiana flavor, marinated for 12 hours in Cajun spices.. The chicken is fresh and 100% Spanish, from farms located in Castile and Leon and Catalonia.
Popeyes eats more than just chicken
In addition to spicy chicken, in various presentations, Popeye’s menu also includes other specialties such as the Seafood Po’Boy. (fish in a baguette with lettuce and pickles, topped with tartar sauce) or Popcorn Shrimpcrispy breaded popcorn shrimp seasoned with generous amounts of aromatic herbs.
