Capcom announces Dead Rising remaster

Unexpectedly, Capcom announced that it would release an updated version of the first Dead Rising. This is the first publication in the series since 2017, when Dead Rising 4 was released.

The Japanese developer hasn’t revealed any details other than the fact that this remaster is currently in development and will be part of a new title called Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster (DRDR).

Although Capcom calls this a remaster, the truth is that the difference from the original version is significant and more indicative of a remake-style treatment:

Dead Rising was originally released in 2006 and received an HD remaster in 2016. This new version was intended to bring new audiences to the franchise and adapt the title to a new generation. It currently does not have a release date, although it is expected sometime this year.

The main character of Dead Rising is Frank West, a journalist trapped in a shopping mall full of zombies, who tries to survive and escape the event by documenting it with his camera in order to sell a good exclusive. One of its greatest features is the requirement to complete the game within 72 hours of in-game play; If we don’t achieve this, we will lose the game.
