The government estimates assistance for the development of electric mobility at 600 million: 350 will go to Moves III | Companies
The government will launch a €600 million aid package for the development of electric mobility. The Ministry of Ecological Transition announced this to the newspaper on Thursday, indicating that 350 million of this amount will go to the Moves III electric vehicle assistance program, which has been extended until December 31 and which today has a volume of requests that exceeds the current budget by 248 million. This money will come mainly from the general government budget, about 200 million, with the rest coming from the PRTR (Transformation and Resilience Plan).
In addition, as already explained by First Vice President and Minister of Finance Maria Jesús Montero at a press conference after the Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday, the executive branch will allocate an additional 50 million to the now defunct organization Moves Mitma (expired in April). , it was allocated 400 million), which aims to update truck fleets with more environmentally friendly industrial vehicles. The amount will primarily serve to respond to applications already solicited that remained pending until the end of the program nearly two months ago, according to sector sources consulted.
The government will also launch a $150 million Moves Corredores program to install charging stations on roads. That same Thursday, preliminary public consultations on the new state aid program began. To complete the 600 million package, Executive is launching Moves Flotas Plus, an update to the so-called Moves Flotas aimed at electrifying company fleets with electrified vehicles.
Finally, Transition said it has launched a public consultation on a new e-credit system, the Renewable Energy Credits, applicable to transport. The new system makes it possible to measure the amount of renewable energy used in transport (until now only the level of biofuels was measured). Energy companies must comply with a certain quota, otherwise they will have to pay a fine to the government.
To all this we must add free corporate tax amortization on investments in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure in 2024 and 2025, a measure that also applies to self-employed people who pay personal income tax. Thus, the executive branch calculates temporary tax benefits in the amount of 535 million for companies and 91.2 million for self-employed personal income tax.
