He struck deals with various developers and began selling the combo on his site — called the Mac Box Bundle — for 10% of the cost of all the individual applications, which comes to about $280.
Beyond the obvious appeal of the price, Owens has added other perks to the offering. On the one hand, a percentage of the profits goes to charity, and on the other, when a certain number of downloads are reached, customers receive a free app.
Not rejoicing at this success, Owens created a new company called Branchr.a company dedicated to revenue-generating, per-click advertising with ads targeted to specific targets. Today, it serves 300 million ads a month across more than 17,500 websites, iPhones, Androids, and apps. In its first year, it has already made about $625,000 and employs eight adults, including its 43-year-old mother, Alison.
