Nothing has just disrupted the cheap mobile market since the CMF Phone 1.

The CMF Phone 1 and its €239 price tag are a breath of fresh air in an increasingly expensive mid-range device landscape.

The CMF Phone 1 costs €239. Yes, you may have never heard of the brand, its design may be a bit peculiar and it lacks extras like a wide-angle lens, NFC or stereo speakers. But trust us when we explain that we are dealing with one of those phones that you need to remember. Because when we talk about “mid-range”, we are completely lost.

Not so long ago, there was a time when the current Redmi cost a little more than 200 euros. Now they are around 400 euros. This is the phenomenon of “premiumization” of the middle class.

Finally something different. Luckily, Nothing hasn’t gotten carried away and is clearly trying to stand out. We’ve seen it in their headphones, and now it’s on our phones. CMF is coming to disrupt the market by undercutting prices.

The CMF Phone 1 has just been released to the market, but we have been testing it at Xataka for a few days now. It is too early to analyze it, but it looks very good.

MediaTek Dimensity 7300 at an amazing price. It’s worth considering what the CMF Phone 1 offers us. It’s nothing special, but it meets all the requirements for a good, beautiful and cheap mobile phone. We live in 2024, and although the AI is very impressive and the design is getting better and better, many users will simply want a functional mobile phone.

AMOLED screen with 120Hz, 5000mAh, 50MP camera and MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. To understand what the addition of this chipset means, we are talking about a SoC manufactured using 4nm technology, which we find in mobile phones such as OPPO Reno 12 or Motorola Razr 50.

Of course, these two models are much more advanced and offer many improvements beyond the chip. But the Renault, for example, costs 549 euros. If you just want a fast and efficient mobile phone, the CMF Phone 1 has an unbeatable price.

It’s not just hardware, it’s pure software too. It’s not just the hardware of the CMF Phone 1 that can boast of nothing. It’s also the pure software that doesn’t put any additional load on the system. Like the legendary Moto G from Motorola or OnePlus at the beginning of its existence, the CMF Phone 1 wants to stand out with its speed. And in the 200 euro price range, there’s nothing like it right now.

239 euros – a price never seen again. This Moto G cost 179 euros. It was 2013. A year later, the OnePlus One did the same with a starting price of 269 euros. 239 euros is a much simpler range than 549 euros for the Realme GT6 or 449 euros for the POCO F6. Yes, we are talking about mobile phones that aspire to be elite. But in practice, many users want their mobile phones to work fast.

We can look at POCO and Xiaomi, two of the leading manufacturers in terms of price-quality ratio. What options do we have? POCO M6 Pro for 229 euros or POCO X6 for 299 euros. M6 Pro comes with Helio G99, while X6 comes with Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The latter has similar results with the MediaTek chipset.

Cheap even for nothing. The Dimensity 7300 benchmarks show it’s very close to the 7200, but even in Nothing itself we see how close the CMF Phone 1’s €329 price is.

Every mobile phone has its own characteristics, but the mid-range market has been asking for a model like the CMF Phone 1 for a long time. A simple and super-cheap mid-range. A budding bestseller that relies on pure software and creates problems for big phone makers.

Because competition is always welcome and the CMF Phone 1 has many numbers that will be one of the summer recommendations for anyone who wants a simple and basic mobile phone. It’s a shame about NFC, perhaps one of the few good reasons why this CMF Phone 1 does not directly increase sales.

199 euro. As if that weren’t enough, the CMF Phone 1 has just been released and its price has already been reduced to €199. The battle for the mid-range has a new contender that is ready to break the mold and offer something new.
