Here’s what we know about the smart ring Samsung is unveiling tomorrow
Samsung She is already ready for her traditional Unpacked summer event, which will take place this Wednesday, July 10, starting at 3:00 pm on the Spanish mainland. As has been the case in recent years, the Korean brand will take the opportunity to show off … their new foldable “smartphones”, and this year they Galaxy Z-fold 6 And Z-flip 6. But the company won’t stop there: the tech company will almost certainly reveal more details about its long-awaited smart ring, the first of its kind, called the Galaxy Ring and which we already had the chance to see up close during the last Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The device, made of titanium, will be available in different sizes – up to thirteen – and colors such as black, silver, and gold. Like smartwatches, it aims to provide the user with well-being-related information by measuring health and physical activity.
For example, the device could measure the user’s heart rate or sleep. It’s likely that the first version or one of its successors will include the ability to measure blood sugar levels. Functionality that other tech companies, especially Apple, have been working on for years.
A recent Samsung patent filing also suggests that future ring models could feature a touchscreen to display information to the user. Something that, of course, the brand won’t feature in the model it’s unveiling tomorrow.
As for the price, a recent leak that happened a few hours ago suggests that the Galaxy Ring could hit the European market at a price of 449 euro. Other previous ones indicated that the cost would be lower, around 350 euros. In any case, tomorrow we will dispel doubts on this account. The gadget is expected to be available from next July 19.
