We’re exclusively featuring two cards from the Pokémon Scarlet and Purple TCG expansion, Astral Crown.

The new Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Scarlet and Purple: Astral Crown, will be available on September 13 next year in both physical format and the digital Pokémon TCG Live app. The Pokémon Company has given us an exclusive look at two cards that will be part of the expansion, which we present below:

These are Fido and Dashbun, two bread dogs that first debuted in the latest installment of the Pokémon saga, Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, for the Nintendo Switch. As ninth-generation Pokémon, they haven’t seen much play in the trading card game yet, so their presence in this expansion is especially interesting.

Like its previous incarnations, this Fidow is a Psychic type and uses any type of energy. But what’s interesting is that this time it has two attacks: Pleasant Scent and Panic Rush. Pleasant Scent in exchange for any type of energy will allow us to find a Basic Pokémon of any type in our deck and put it on the bench.

An attack that will be quite useful to us, especially when combined with the new ability of its EX evolution, Daschbun. By evolving Fidow into Dashbun, Zampar Time will allow us to heal all the damage points of each of the evolved Pokémon we have on the table. Of course: at the cost of forcing us to discard all the energy we healed. Still, it’s an interesting ability that, if used correctly, can completely change the game.

There will be a total of 170 cards in Scarlet and Purple: Astral Crown of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Its main Pokémon will be Cinderace, Lapras, and Galvantula, and Pokémon will continue to appear in their Theracrystallized form, a new mechanic introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple. It will be available on September 13.
