It is declared that the orcs must die! Death trap
Robot Entertainment has announced Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, a new installment in the popular Orcs Must Die franchise.
This time around, Deathtrap will bet on four-player co-op (though it can also be played solo), as well as a rogue-lite-style progression system and new heroes with differentiated abilities.
The game is initially scheduled to launch next year with versions for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Patrick Hudson, co-founder and CEO of Robot Entertainment, said: “We are excited to introduce the latest offering in the Orcs Must Die! franchise. Our goal has always been to push the boundaries of creativity and fun. With Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, we face the challenge of innovating on a franchise that is now thirteen years old while listening closely to the community and their requests.”
“We’ve stayed true to the classic chaotic action and lighthearted tone, introducing four-player co-op, versatile new heroes with completely unique abilities, expanded level variety, and roguelite-style design progression options to deliver the most exhilarating orc-slaying experience ever.”
The First Orcs Must Die! It was published in 2011, and the third (and so far final) part was released in 2021. In honor of the announcement of Deathtrap, the three games went on sale on Steam until July 31 next year.
