SNK vs. Capcom Announced: SVC Chaos for PlayStation 4, Switch and PC

SNK has announced the relaunch of the legendary game SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The PC version is actually already available on Steam, with versions for Sony and Nintendo consoles coming tomorrow, July 22.

The port of the 2003 original to new platforms includes quality of life improvements such as netcode rollback to improve the reliability of online combat, tournament modes, a hitbox viewer, and an art gallery with eighty-nine illustrations.

The SNK vs. Capcom saga was born in 1999 with SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, and saw a spinoff in the form of the card game SVC: Card Fighter’s Clash for the same console that same year.

Shortly after, in 2000, Capcom hit the shelves with the release of Capcom vs. SNK: Millenium Fight 2000 for arcades, PlayStation, and Dreamcast, and a year later released a sequel, Capcom vs SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting for arcades, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube.

SVC vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos was released in 2003, and the latest installment in the franchise, SVC: Card Fighters DS, was released in 2006 for Nintendo’s touchscreen-equipped handhelds.
