Study Shows High User Satisfaction During Prime Day
As part of Prime Day 2024, Amazon Mexico collaborated with research agency Ipsos to conduct a study on the online shopping habits of Mexican consumers. The study, conducted in June 2024, revealed important data on the perceptions and behavior of shoppers during this important commercial event.
According to the study, 91% of Amazon Prime members in Mexico are satisfied or very satisfied with the offers, promotions and discounts available during Prime Day. The most valuable benefits include exclusive offers, competitive prices and free shipping with no minimum purchase requirement.
The analysis shows that 65% of respondents are looking forward to Prime Day, seeing it as a key opportunity to take advantage of exclusive discounts. 43% of participants prepared their wish lists two weeks before the event, highlighting the importance of planning to maximize savings.
The study also highlights the high sophistication among Mexican online shoppers. 84% of respondents plan their purchases in advance, valuing the ability to search for deals and attractive prices. The main reasons for shopping online are the convenience of home delivery (87%), access to exclusive offers (80%), and the overall convenience of shopping (79%). In addition, 57% of consumers check product reviews, 56% compare prices, and 45% search for additional information on online stores or social media.
In terms of spending, the average monthly online purchase is over 2,000 pesos, mostly using debit and credit cards, as well as prepaid cards and cash payments at convenience stores. The most purchased product categories include fashion (88%), personal care (79%), and technology such as cell phones and computers (73%).
This research highlights the growing sophistication of online consumers and their interest in using scheduled offers to optimize their Prime Day shopping.
