Leganes strengthen their central defence with Jackson Porozo | CD Leganes

Leganés and ESTAC Troyes reached an agreement on Thursday for the one-season loan of Ecuadorian international central defender Jackson Gabriel Porozo Vernaça, 24. The defender, who has extensive international experience despite his youth, will play on loan in Butarque in the 2024/25 season.

Porozo is a right-footed central defender who trains in Ecuadorian football in clubs such as Liga Quito, Manta or Independiente del Valle. After passing through Brazil in the training teams of clubs such as Palmeiras or Santos, he made the jump to Europe in 2020 with Portuguese Boavista. With the Portuguese, he will make his debut in the First Division, gaining fame in his second season 2021/22, in which he played more than 2,500 minutes.

Experience, despite his youth, in European football and at the national team level.

At the end of this season he will be transferred to French club Troyes, for whom he will play twenty-three matches in his debut in Ligue 1. Last year Porozo continued to gain experience, first in Greece with Olympiacos, for whom he made his debut in European competitions, playing in the UEFA Europa League, and then in Turkey, playing the second half of the season in Kasimpasa.

At international level, Porozo was crowned South American Under-20 champion with Ecuador before making his debut for the senior team, with whom he played at the last World Cup in Qatar in 2022, and was also called up for the last Copa America this summer. Porozo, who has great size, aerial play and good ball control, will join training this Friday under Borja Jimenez. He will wear the number 4, with the date of his presentation to be announced in the coming days.
