Spanish Paralympic Team Moves to Paris Thanks to Iberia
Around 200 people Spanish Paralympic Teamwho make up the bulk of the national delegation to the 2024 Games in Paris, departed for the French capital on two flights this Saturday Iberia which will depart from Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport and arrive in Orly.
The first plane took off this morning with about thirty team members, including athletes and technicians in track and field, wheelchair basketball, swimming, archery and more.
The second arrival will take place this afternoon on board another Iberia aircraft, carrying around 170 people representing most of the 16 sports represented in Spain at Paris 2024. The athletes will be accompanied by the usual staff, including doctors, physiotherapists, coaches, mechanics and office staff.
Iberia provided the important transportation of the Spanish delegation, its equipment and sports equipment. The company, which is a sponsor of the ADOP plan, also expressed its support for the national delegation during the flight through gifts, encouraging messages and preferential treatment. The Spanish Paralympic team also collaborated with AENA and the National Police to ensure that flights to Paris were carried out normally.
The rest of the Spanish delegation will fly to the French capital at the end of August, when the national expedition to the Paralympic Games ends. The trips will include representatives from the sports taking part in the second week of competition, such as cycling, wheelchair fencing, weightlifting, judo and canoeing.
The 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris will be held from August 28 to September 8. Spain will send a delegation of 259 people. Of these, 150 athletes (including 139 disabled and 11 secondary athletes, including track and field and triathlon guides, rowing coxswains) and 109 make up the general staff.
