The Lebanese Health Ministry announced on Wednesday night (02.10.2024) that 46 people were killed and 85 were injured by “bombing by the Israeli enemy” in the past 24 hours in several areas of the country.

The Lebanese Crisis Center had announced before the publication of that daily balance that 1,928 people had been killed in Lebanon since the shooting between Israel and the Hezbollah group began in October 2023.

According to the health ministry, the new attacks occurred in Lebanon’s southern regions, Al Nabatiye (South), and the cities and towns of Bekaa and Baalbek in the north-east of the country.

Casualties occurred mainly in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs, known as Dahaye, a key Hezbollah stronghold in the capital.

Displacement of 12 lakh people

Additionally, the intensified Israeli bombing campaign has led to the displacement of approximately 1.2 million people, many of whom have sought refuge in second homes, hotels, rental apartments, and in one of the 867 shelters set up by the authorities, despite the fact that 74 More than % are completely packed.

During the attacks, a bombing at a Hezbollah first-aid center in central Beirut killed five people on Wednesday night, the health ministry said.

According to a source close to Hezbollah, five people were killed and eleven wounded in the attack in the Bachoura neighborhood of central Beirut. AFP journalists in the city heard an explosion and reported that several buildings shook after the bombing.
