The meta seems to be clear that WhatsApp should become a video calling service on par with Teams or Zoom. But WhatsApp is preparing more professional changes: links for video calls.

This happened thanks to WABetaInfo that WhatsApp’s plans are known. Media outlets specializing in the meta messaging app have analyzed the latest beta version of the Android app. It’s about version 2.24.19.14It was he who revealed the new product that Meta is preparing for WhatsApp.

This beta version introduced the ability to create links in WhatsApp so you can then make video calls. These links will work for both video calls between two people and group video calls.

To create one of these links, you will only need to open the WhatsApp attachment drop-down menu. At the end of the list you will find a new shortcut called “Call link“in English or “Call Link” in Spanish.

Clicking on this icon will open a drop-down menu in which you will find a link to call. The user will be able copy this link to paste it into any conversation or group, but you can also send it directly to the conversation or group where it was displayed.

This functionality is really useful for organizing video calls, you will only need to have this link and click on it to start this type of communication on WhatsApp. This can actually be interesting on a work level.

There are plenty of company profiles on WhatsApp, and now they have a tool that allows you to make video calls without having to log into WhatsApp. This link can be shared in other ways, such as email.

For now, this functionality was only seen in the Android beta.. WhatsApp hasn’t commented on its launch, so we’ll have to stay tuned to see how the process progresses. Over the next few weeks, we may see this new feature in the stable version of WhatsApp.
