After reporting its third quarter results, in which the company reported revenue of $2,210 million and growth of nearly 700,000 subscriptions, the platform streaming, Netflixapplied price increases to its rates in both Spain and Italy. It thus follows an example that has already been implemented in other European countries, as well as in Japan.

This decision, as explained in the company, was motivated high loyalty of its usersas the brand has the lowest accident rate in the entire sector. And even with this measure, Netflix is ​​confident that subscriptions will increase in the next quarter thanks to upcoming releases and after they recover from the damage caused by the Hollywood writers’ strike in 2023.

As seen on Netflix’s own website, prices have increased slightly from the rates in effect before this Thursday. All in all, the cost of three options has increased by one or two euros per month. Likewise, adding users in each option has also become more expensive.

Netflix’s new plans

  • Standard with advertising: 6.99 euros per month. (up to 5.49 euros per month). Includes advertising, Full HD quality (1080p), the ability to play on 2 devices simultaneously, without the ability to add an additional participant.
  • Standard: 13.99 euros per month (up to 12.99 euros per month). No advertising, Full HD quality (1080p), the ability to play on two devices simultaneously. It allows you to add an additional member for €5.99 per month (but no longer allows you to include an additional member with advertising for €4.99 per month).
  • Premium: €19.99 per month (up to 17.99 euros per month). Also ad-free, 4K+HDR quality, up to 4 simultaneous devices and the ability to add up to 2 additional participants for €5.99 (but no longer allows you to add an additional participant with advertising for €4.99 per month).
