A total of 30 trucks entered the north of the Gaza Strip this Friday through the Erez West crossing, according to COGAT, the military organization that manages humanitarian affairs in the enclave. “Today, the international community sent 30 trucks with aid, including food, water, medical supplies and shelter equipment,” he elaborated in the note. The aid, according to the text, arrived at the Israeli port of Ashdod and, after undergoing “extensive security inspections”, was taken to the north of the Strip. He added, “The Israeli Defense Forces, through COGAT, will continue to operate in accordance with international law to facilitate and enable the humanitarian response to the Gaza Strip.” Following the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the north of the Strip on 6 October, the humanitarian situation has again deteriorated for the approximately 400,000 Gazans trapped there. Since then, human rights organizations have expressed their concern for northern Gazans as they say the number of trucks currently entering is not sufficient, and no humanitarian aid arrived during the first weeks of October.
