Israel reports attack from Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces reported that 20 rockets fired from Lebanon were detected on Friday night, some of which were intercepted and others fell in unpopulated areas, causing no damage.

Israel has so far not claimed responsibility for armed action against the Jabaliya refugee camp, which was attacked by Israeli forces a year ago on November 1, 2023.

The Gaza Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, the Islamist group considered terrorist by the European Union, Israel and the United States, said on Friday that Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip had killed 62 Palestinians and wounded more than 300 the previous day.

The total number of deaths in Gaza has reached 42,500 and the number of injured has reached 99,546, the majority of whom are women and children since the Israeli offensive into the enclave began more than a year ago.

In turn, the Israeli army’s chief of staff, Herzl Halevi, assured on Friday that his troops had killed about 1,500 members of the Shiite Hezbollah militia as Israel stepped up its attacks against Lebanon.

In Lebanon, since October 7, 2023, about 2,300 people have been killed and more than a million have been forced to flee their homes, especially in the south of the country, due to the intensity of Israeli bombardment.
