Kurdish terrorists have claimed responsibility for the attack in the Turkish capital – DW – 10/25/2024
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) this Friday (10/25/2024) claimed responsibility for the attack carried out on Wednesday against a defense company near the Turkish capital Ankara, in which five people died.
“On Wednesday the 23rd, the sacrificial action against the TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) complex in Ankara was carried out by a team of the ‘Battalion of the Immortals,'” the PKK said, referring to Aerospace Industries facilities in Turkey.
Five people were killed and 22 injured in the attack by a man and a woman. The conspirators of the attack also died.
The government immediately blamed outlawed armed groups for the attack and in response, Ankara’s military bombed Kurdish positions in Iraq and Syria.
The PKK elaborated that the operation was “planned for a long time”, specifying that it had nothing to do with recent political events in Turkey, where authorities are seeking a negotiated settlement of the conflict with Kurdish fighters. Seemed to be searching.
The PKK stressed that the attack was intended to “send a warning and message against the genocidal practices, massacres and separatist practices of the Turkish government”.
The PKK, classified as a terrorist by Turkey and its Western allies, including the United States and the European Union, has waged an insurgency against the Turkish military since 1984.
