Cordinier is not leaving Virtus. This is how they explained it

Isaiah Cordinier, one of the names in the rumors in the EuroLeague market, will not leave Virtus. This is how Luca Baraldi, general director of the Italian team, who very categorically denied the departure of the French abroad, explained it in statements from Il Resto del Carlino:

“Cordinier is not moving. We are going to fulfill our obligations. Cordinier will remain with us until the end of the season, and this is not only my opinion, but also that of my partners.

The player is at the center of our project, and since we are serious people and have made a commitment to those who have trusted us (I mean our subscribers and the companies that sponsor us), we are not going to change the cards on the table after the start of the season.

“I am the club’s CEO and I believe there is no reason to justify his departure given his future ambitions.”

Isaiah Cordinier is performing well in the EuroLeague this season for Virtus Segafredo Bologna. In recent games, the French guard has averaged 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4 assists per game. In particular, he excelled in confrontations such as the confrontation on October 10, 2024, when he scored 23 points against ASVEL Villeurbanne, reaching a PIR of 26.

Cordinier’s name has been linked to Real Madrid as a transfer option in recent days, although Baraldi’s words appear to open up any possibility of a move for the Frenchman.
