Milley meets Trump in Florida; Trump told him: “Make Argentina great again”
(CNN Spanish) – Argentine President Javier Miley met with the newly elected President of the United States Donald Trump in Florida this Thursday, the Office of the Argentine President reported on his X account, where he posted a photo of the meeting.
Also visible in the image are businessman Elon Musk – who, according to what Trump has said, will lead a new “Department of Government Efficiency” in the next United States government; Karina Miley, Secretary General of the Presidency of Argentina and sister of President Miley; and Gerardo Werthin, Chancellor of the South American country.
The meeting took place within the framework of the America First Institute ceremony at Mar-a-Lago, where Trump gave a speech in which he mentioned Miley. Trump said he congratulated the economist for the work he has done as Argentina’s president – a post he assumes on December 10, 2023 – and, in a nod to his famous motto “Make America Great Again.” Gesturing, he urged: “Make Argentina great again.”
“You have done a fantastic job in a very short time. “It’s an honor to have you here,” Trump said.
Miley has expressed her sympathy for Trump and said she looks forward to cooperating with his government, which will begin operations on January 20. The Argentine President considers the United States and Israel to be his country’s main allies in the international community.
