The Valencia Marathon will take place on December 1st.
We know that you have been waiting for this news. Thank you for being so patient with us. As you well know, these were days of great pain, fear, uncertainty and anxiety for the city of Valencia and its entire province.
We really wish you had heard about us sooner. But for us this was impossible. We did everything in our power to help those who needed it most at that time. We know that you, as a good athlete, will understand the situation perfectly.
Fortunately, as always happens, after every storm comes the sunrise. That’s why we want to share this with you. On December 1, Valencia awaits you to celebrate the marathon this will be more than just a race.
It will be the embrace of a wounded city and the promise of recovery, a moment when sport becomes hope and help for those who need it most.
This year we want to break the solidarity mark, a marathon record that will remind each of us of the power of being together. The enormous power of the team as a society and of sport as a means of reconstruction and restoration.
We want your race to be a symbol of support for every affected family, every street and every corner of Valencia where the recovery process is underway.
Celebrating the Valencia Marathon is our way of saying that together, as a society, we can overcome any obstacle. We know that running means health and also hope. We understand that this is not a good time for some of you, and we deeply respect those feelings.
We want The Valencia Trinidad-Zurich Alfonso Marathon will be a powerful boost to those most affected by the impact of DANA.
For this reason, we want to inform you that the Valencia Marathon will be 3 areas of fundraising for the reconstruction of sports grounds and sports schools in the affected areas:
- The organization itself donates 3 euros for each runner who reaches the finish line on December 1.
- These are the sponsors of the event.
- Yours, runners or anyone who wants to join via number zero on the donation platform designed for this.
All proceeds from sponsors, organization funds and participants will be transferred in a transparent manner a project or several projects for the reconstruction of affected areas. In the near future we will indicate the exact destination transparently and publicly.
The marathon on December 1 will be a marathon that will go far beyond a purely sporting nature. The only record we want to break this year is record of solidarity.
Thank you for allowing the Valencia Marathon to contribute to restoring the social, economic and sporting pulse of Valencia. And thank you for being there in good and bad times.
See you on December 1st. And thank you for thinking so much about our land.
