Russia teaches North Korea “modern warfare” – DW – 11/16/2024

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted the need to counterbalance cooperation between Russia and North Korea on the occasion of the visit of Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya to Ukraine this Saturday (11/16/2024).

“Russia is teaching North Korea modern warfare, and this could lead to significant and widespread destabilization. We must work with the rest of our allies to counter this,” he said in his traditional evening address to the nation.

Additionally, the Ukrainian leader said he spoke to Ivaya about the fact that “North Korea has now become an ally of Russia and is helping (Russian President Vladimir) Putin in this criminal war.”

The president also told him about North Korean military activities in the Russian Kursk region and “all the dangers of cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.”

Zelensky also announced a new aid package from Japan and said that country’s support for Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion war now stands at $12 billion.

He spoke to the minister about strengthening sanctions against Russia, economic cooperation with Japan, reconstruction and bringing about a just peace, saying, “Japan is a true leader in Asia in defending the rules-based international order and human life. ” ,
