The 2024 Oscar nominations have been officially announced, with 10 people nominated for the first time, including Cillian Murphy, America Ferrera, Colman Domingo, Emily Blunt and Lily Gladstone.
Murphy won Best Actor for his role as J. Robert Oppenheimer, and Blunt received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as Kitty Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan’s film received 11 more nominations.
Not only was Gladstone nominated for an Oscar for the first time, but she also became the first Native American actress. She won the award for Best Leading Actress for her role as Molly Burkhart in Killers of the Flower Moon, which received nine more nominations. “This is long overdue. “I feel like it’s no coincidence that it’s me because there have been so many huge, incredible performances,” she said. Ferrera is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Gloria in Greta Gerwig’s film. Barbie. As for Da’Vine Joy Randolph, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mary Lamb in Leftovers, which also received four more nominations. “This is so interesting,” she said TPP her no. “There are so many wonderful artists nominated this year: Colman, Leftovers family, Danielle Brooks, Emily Blunt.”
Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown received their first Oscar nominations for the film American fiction. Wright is nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Thelonious “Monk” Ellison, while Brown is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Clifford Ellison. Cord Jefferson’s film received three additional nodes.
Danielle Brooks received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Sophia in Color Purple. “No one can complete a project alone,” she said. TPP her solo nomination for the film directed by Blitz Bazawule. “I didn’t come here alone. I can’t act on my own. I, of course, do not hold microphones in my hands, choose costumes or do choreography myself. So, I just feel like I’m doing this for everyone. I hope we can achieve victory thanks to the efforts of everyone who was part of this wonderful performance.”
Sandra Hüller is nominated for Best Actress for her role as Sandra Voiter in Anatomy of a fall. Justine Trieu’s film received four more knots.
