Rudy Fernandez’s family stars in Nintendo’s Christmas campaign
Driven by the idea that “time together is the best gift,” the brand is launching a new promotion to announce an update to its sports game, as well as promote Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo launches Christmas campaign featuring Spanish basketball star Rudy Fernandez; his wife, model Helen Lynds; and their children, Alan and Aura. Also joining the family was Rudy’s sister, Marta Fernandez, an international player for Spain and also an NBA player, like her brother. A high-class family with a competitive gene in their blood that transfers that competitiveness to the Nintendo Switch controllers.
And the Fernandez family’s passion for competition, both on and off the field, runs in the family, as they themselves have admitted on more than one occasion. Rudy and Martha have loved video games since childhood and have a special affection for the character Mario, a fact that is reflected in the video as we see both of them, now father and mother, “playing each other” in the Nintendo Switch video game: Super Mario Bros. Wonder. After this, Helen and the children’s complicity will do the rest, brokering the Three Wise Men with a Nintendo Switch Sports video game, which also features basketball as a sport in its new update.
And as the video closes, the best gift this Christmas is spending time together.
“For us, this is a childhood dream come true. As avid fans of video games and new technologies, we grew up with a Nintendo console at home, and now we have the opportunity to help the brand grow. The excitement of opening a new game or a new console at Christmas is an emotion for which you are always at the best age,” they explain from Coyote, the agency in charge of the promotion.
The production of the play was carried out by La Joya under the direction of Martin Nieto as director and Alex de Pablo as cinematographer, Goya Award winner for the film “As Bestas” by Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
