The Best Award nominees have been announced
FIFA has announced the list of nominees for Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024which will highlight the stars of another exciting year of men’s and women’s football for both clubs and national teams.
You can now vote for various award categories on FIFA.com. In this episode, fans will play an important role in choosing the winners. Thus, in the categories “Best award for a FIFA men’s football player”, “Best award for a FIFA women’s football player”, “Best award for a FIFA men’s football coach”, “Best women’s award for a FIFA men’s football coach” FIFA Best Goalkeeper Award and FIFA Best Goalkeeper, fan votes will carry the same weight as those of current captains and coaches of the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as members of the media.
The winner of the FIFA Fan Award will be chosen solely by fans, while the winner of the FIFA Fair Play Award will be chosen by a panel of experts. The winners of the new FIFA March Award and the Puskás Award will be chosen from among FIFA fans and legends, whose votes will carry equal weight.
The biggest innovation to voting in this edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards™ is that fans will have the opportunity to get involved in the selection of the Best FIFA Men’s Eleven and the Best FIFA Women’s Eleven. As such, fans will be able to select their players from a list of 77 nominees (22 defenders, 22 midfielders and 22 forwards, plus eleven goalkeepers) and place them in one of the pre-determined formations to form their team. Fan votes will carry the same weight as expert votes.
The FIFA Puskás Award has been changed and will be awarded to the scorer of the best goal in men’s football.regardless of championship or nationality. To celebrate the best goal of any women’s league on the planet, the FIFA Marta Award, named after the Brazilian legend, will be awarded for the first time.
The voting deadline on FIFA.com ends at 23:59 (CET) next Tuesday, 10 December. Rules for awarding all prizes are available on the FIFA Digital Hub.
