Global commitment to sustainable development

In the current environment, growing environmental awareness has led to a significant increase in commitment to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. In this context, the International Exhibition of Energy and Environment Genera 2024 is actively developing, returning for the twenty-seventh time and offering a new meeting for companies committed to the principles of sustainable development. The event not only serves as a meeting place for industry leaders, but also becomes a space where those in attendance can share their contributions to a greener future.

Genera 2024, organized by Ifema Madrid from 6 to 8 February, is poised to mark an important milestone in the industry calendar, offering a pure 24,000 m2 exhibition space that will be the epicenter of innovation and sustainable solutions. In addition, it will receive decisive support from the Institute for Diversification and Energy Conservation (IDAE) and will bring together more than 400 direct exhibitors who will occupy the entire allocated space.

The relevance of the Genera project lies not only in its commercial dimension, but also in its role as a catalyst for the transition to a more sustainable future. This event is important in demonstrating the industry’s commitment to finding innovative technologies and environmental solutions. IDAE’s own stand in Hall 10 will be the epicenter for promoting renewable energy and its associated national value chain, marking the start of the institute’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Genera’s diversity of participants will span a wide range of technologies, from energy efficiency to renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics, solar and wind. The fair will present solutions for consulting, design, storage and charging of electric vehicles, as well as innovations for residential and industrial facilities.

The internationalization of Genera 2024 will be evident with the presence of more than 40% international companies, which will include participants from countries such as China, Turkey and various European countries. Likewise, important industry associations will come together to enhance the impact of the event, including the Spanish Photovoltaic Union, Solartys, Anese and A3e.

A key feature of Genera 2024 will be the Genera Forum, a comprehensive platform that will analyze the energy and environment sector from multiple perspectives. Focusing on innovation, solutions and keys to the energy sustainability transition, this forum will host countless presentations and conferences. In addition, the active participation of associations and institutions such as ACOGEN, AEE, ADHAC, AeH2 and many others underscores the importance of the Genera Forum as a meeting place for the exchange of knowledge and experience among industry leaders.

No less important will be the Genera Solar Forum, organized jointly with the Spanish Photovoltaic Union. This space dedicated to solar energy will feature information sessions and innovations that will be key to understanding the fundamental role of solar energy in transforming the sector.

Internationalization

The international Genera 2024 project reaches a new level: 39% of exhibitors come from outside Spain. Companies from China, Turkey and Germany stand out among the participants, helping to cement Madrid as a key meeting place for industry professionals.

Reports from this publication show a phenomenal increase in the number of participating companies by 24%, reaching 500 exhibitors. The exhibition area has also increased significantly by 30% and now covers 24,000 m2. This remarkable growth reflects Genera’s growing importance as a leading showcase for energy and environmental innovation and solutions.

Spain continues to excel in renewable energy, ranking eighth in the EY Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index. Wind power and solar PV lead national renewable energy production with shares of 24% and 14% respectively in 2023, according to Red Eléctrica. This privileged position underlines the relevance of Genera as a key event for exploring the latest trends and solutions in the field of renewable energy and the environment.
