The Valencian Community lifts the mandatory masks in health centers

He mandatory use of mask in health centers was abolished by the Valencian Community. The Ministry of Health made this decision due to a decrease in the incidence of respiratory infections.

The cumulative incidence of acute respiratory infections in the Valencian Community is currently 830 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and the incidence rate of severe acute respiratory infections is falling to 15.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

According to the Ministry of Health, this measure will come into force this Wednesday after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat.

The Minister of Health, Marciano Gómez, explained that this decision “responds to the noticeable decline registered in the last three weeks in the Community” and that the decision is in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Health, which has established as a requirement for the withdrawal of the Mandatory mask the continued decline in incidence over a period of two weeks.
