A work on Rural Medicine, PSN award

The Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Galicia The National Health Prevision ‘Humanity and Professional Practice’ award has been awarded to the doctor Jose Manuel Lage For his job ‘The rural doctor, custodian of health in society’ which he made in collaboration with Roberto Fernandez Alvarez.
The study addresses in detail the historical background of Rural Medicine, the development of the profession in the 20th century and Scientific Medicine in lands ‘forgotten’ (analysing, among others, issues such as diagnostic means, therapeutic instruments, radiology, the doctor as an obstetrician in difficult deliveries or the means of locomotion). Additionally, and as another highlight of the work, she details in first person her 40 years of personal experience in the practice of Rural Medicine.
Lage received the recognition from the hands of Francisco Martelo and Miguel Carrero, president of the Royal Academy and PSN, respectively
Lage is also the promoter of the Museum of the Rural Doctor of Maceda, that already made him worthy of the award To Fonte Limpa given by asomega Y psn.
The awards ceremony took place last Friday at the headquarters of the Royal Academy, which brought together a large group of professionals. Lage received the recognition from the Francisco Martelo Y michael carreropresident of the Royal Academy and PSN, respectively.
HUMANIZING MEDICINE
PSN’s relationship with humanism dates back to its origins. The very DNA of the entity carries implicit concepts such as solidarity, assistance, mutual commitment and collaboration.
