Almost all top managers in Spain surveyed (98%) are planning to expand their team.eight percentage points higher than the last edition. Moreover, 42% expect this to happen above 6%. As for the development of their own companies, managers remain optimistic because 76% believe they will grow in the next three years. However, this percentage is ten points lower than in 2023.

The problem of artificial intelligence

In addition, the percentage of managers who do not believe in the growth of their companies in the medium term remains unchanged compared to the previous edition and remains at 4%. Those surveyed expect their income to increase over the next three years, with 68% expecting growth to exceed 2.5%. Regarding the implementation of artificial intelligence, 60% of Spanish managers are going to invest in this technology regardless of the economic situation. 72% believe that these investments will not begin to bear fruit for at least three years.

On the other side, eight out of ten are concerned about the ethical aspects of using AI in their organizations, but rule out that this technology will significantly reduce the number of jobs, although they admit that it will entail updating the knowledge and skills of employees.

For six out of ten respondents, the capabilities and skills required for generative AI pose a challenge to its adoption. In fact, only 28% of respondents believe their employees are trained to harness the potential of this innovation. In terms of risks threatening growth, 20% believe that cybersecurity is the main risk to their organization’s growth over the medium term.
