The final of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League is hotter than ever. The series is 2×0, favorable to Los Leones del Caracas over Los Tiburones de La Guaira. Both want the long-awaited title, not for the trophy itself, but for everything that comes with being a champion in this harvest.

Los Leones, the most winning team in Venezuelan baseball, have not lifted the trophy for 12 years. For their part, Los Tiburones have the longest active streak without being crowned in Venezuela, 37 years. In addition, both seek to beat their city rival in Caracas and as if that were not enough, represent Venezuela in the Caribbean Series to be held in a few days in the same city.

Today’s game was full of emotions from the beginning, the strongest related to the Venezuelan slugger, MLB World Series champion with the Atlanta Braves, Ronald Acuña Jr.

That alluding to the hit and subsequent perreo of the “Abusador” in the lower part of the fourth episode.

After that and as expected, the next turn was full of booing for “El de la Sabana” at the University stadium in the city of Caracas.

In the upper part of the 9th episode it was up to Acuña Jr. to take a turn on the battery, but he was replaced by Wilson García.

Minutes after this situation, a post was seen on Ronald’s official Instagram account that said and I quote: «Officially withdrawn from the Venezuelan league. Good evening it was a pleasure I loved playing in front of you I love you«.

Until the closing of this note there is no official part of the message from Ronald Acuña Jr. but it is assumed that he will no longer play, at least for this season, in professional baseball in Venezuela. The retirement of the Atlanta outfielder is a significant loss for the Venezuelan ball show.

We are sure that the fans of Los Tiburones de La Guaira will miss him.
