Thinking, for example, of the overture’s main scene in the Los Angeles periphery shot sequence, or the encore meeting between Mia and Sebastian, the film’s two leads are in the camp of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. But if “La La Land” already vibrates in front of the public, it is an outlier in the late cinematic past, it also makes a wonderful ending.
