Dozens of well-known faces have joined the protest in support of hollywood strike Including Kevin Bacon, Susan Sarandon, Awkwafina, Paul Dano and Olivia Wilde.
The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike against Hollywood production companies was recently called after talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) failed last week.
The actors are demanding a hike in the base pay and balance. Their demands also include guarantees from studios and production companies about how the AI will be used, even with their likenesses, and when some of their work will be used to train the AI. They will be compensated.
Additionally, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has also been on strike since early May with similar terms. This is the first time in more than 60 years that actors and writers have gone on strike together.

AMPTP said in a statement that the strike “certainly did not have the outcome we had hoped for,” adding, “Studios cannot function without the artists who bring our TV shows and movies to life.”
“Unfortunately, the union has chosen a path that will cause financial hardship to thousands of people dependent on the industry,” he added.
Actors Guild President Fran Drescher previously issued a statement saying: “Companies have refused to engage meaningfully on some issues and have completely blocked us on others. Until they negotiate in good faith, we cannot begin to reach an agreement.”
