Amazon is updating the Kindle family with the first Paperwhite color printer and important new features.
Amazon just announced four new Kindlesthe most important update for book readers today. For the first time, a color Kindle appears, a concept we haven’t seen before since the key feature of the Kindle was black-and-white ink screens.
Along with this comes an improved version of PaperWhite called Kindle Scribe and a new entry-level Kindle. Here’s everything you need to know about Amazon’s new offerings.
New Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. Despite the name, this is the first Kindle with a color screen. According to Amazon, its screen is designed to “offer color similar to the color of paper,” as the philosophy remains to offer a visual experience as close to the physical format as possible.
It’s waterproof, wireless charging, has a battery life of up to eight weeks, and has auto-adjusting front lighting.

New Kindle Scribe. The Kindle Scribe is an evolution of the previous model with a 300 ppi screen, an updated stylus, and a white bezel design. Amazon aims to make the pen feel like a real pen, with a soft tip and careful balance.
We can write in blank projects, take notes, highlight words we need, and there’s even AI integration to automatically summarize both pages and notes.

New Kindle Paperwhite. The successor to the most popular Kindle is the new Paperwhite, whose name has been with us for more than 10 years. The new generation is being marketed as the fastest to date. In particular, they promise to speed up page changes by 25%.
The screen uses a thin-film oxide transistor, which Amazon says offers the highest contrast ratio of any Kindle. The panel is also seven inches, it is now thinner and the battery lasts up to three months.
