András Szakony, appointed CEO of Ferrovial’s digital infrastructure division Ferrovial

Ferrovial, one of the world’s leading infrastructure companies, announces the appointment of András Szákony as CEO of its Digital Infrastructure business. Sacony has extensive industry experience in both data centers and resilient cloud AI solutions. As CEO of this division, he will strengthen and expand Ferrovial’s presence in a growing sector where the company has been developing projects for leading multinationals in Europe and America for over 10 years.

The Digital Infrastructure Division will be responsible for identifying investment opportunities and developing high-value projects in the sector.

András Szákony holds a degree in Finance and Economics from Corvinus University in Budapest and the LEAP (Leadership Excellence through Awareness and Practice) program from INSEAD Business School.

During his extensive professional experience, he has held various leadership positions at the international level. He began his career at General Electric, where he led various financial functions in the United States for 6 years.

He subsequently held various leadership positions for 21 years at Iron Mountain, a global B2B services company based in Boston and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with a particular focus on data centers and information management services. In particular, he played a key role in building Iron Mountain’s data center business as Global Chief Operating Officer.

In addition, since 2020 he has been a member of the supervisory board and audit committee of Magyar Telekom, a leading Hungarian information and communications technology company.
