Anna Marie Nahlen Gunderman, age 94, of Conway, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was born on December 3, 1928, to Joe and Christine Rumker Nahlen. She retired from Kimberly Clark in Conway after 20 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church, and a member of the Christian Mothers Society, and a faithful participant of the Senior Saints. She was very active in all aspects of St. Joseph’s Church. The Gunderman family garden was known throughout the city where she visited daily. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank; and his son, John Gunderman. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, Andrew, Tony and Clarence Nahlen; and his sisters, Sister Josita Nahlen, OSB, Gertrude Siebenmorgan and Theresa Nahlen. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Deacon Calvin) Piercey of Conway, Sharon (Mark) Tyler of Morrilton, Annette (Duane) Snyder of Greenbrier and Janice (Jeff) Gossett of Germantown, Tenn.; He is survived by his grandchildren, Father Jason Tyler of Fayetteville, Tara Tinker of Conway, Kimberly (Justin) Spikes of Little Rock, Josh (Michelle) Tinker of Bella Vista, Eric Tyler of Morrilton, Rachel (Colton) Kordsmeier of Conway, Matthew (groans) Snyder, Nesbitt, Miss. Kay, Melissa Snyder, Iowa City, Iowa Kay, Katherine Snyder, Hollister, MO. Kay, and Anna Gossett, Germantown, Tenn.; nine great-grandchildren: Melody Spix, Maggie Tinker, Hannah Tinker, Tyler Spix, Emily Tinker, Millicent Tinker, Thomas Kordsmeier, Oliver Kordsmeier, and Samuel Kordsmeier; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan (Jessica), Madeline (Summer), and Lillian Piercey; and a brother, TJ Nahlen of Conway. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Nalene Langford and Peggy Burns Rappold for the care they provided to Anna these past few months. A rosary and visitation will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday, November 24 from 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s on Saturday, November 25 at 10 a.m. with the grandson attending. While presiding, Br. Jason Tyler. Burial will be in Crest-Lawn Memorial Park, Conway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph School Endowment in Conway or Sacred Heart School Endowment in Morrilton.
