Apple Wants to Clear Its Accounts with the iPhone 16. Its Most Expensive Models Are the Key

There are only three weeks left until the arrival of the next iPhone 16. The rumors are getting hotter: we already think we know what their camera systems will be, what processor configuration they will bet on, and what the design of the new family of devices will be like from Apple.

If everything matches the information we have, we will have the iPhone 16 on our desks on September 10 next year. Those that will see the Pro Max models made in India for the first time. It all seems to make sense: Apple wants the Pro models to be more popular than ever.

According to leaks, Apple plans to initially produce 90.1 million iPhones. To put that into perspective, Apple made $86.2 million last year. Of those 90.1 million, 37% of the total (33.2 million) will be Pro models, up significantly from 26.6 million (30%) last year.

Apple wants the Pro variants to have more visibility, though the source notes that this production forecast could change as demand is determined.

Last year, seven of the top ten best-selling mobile phones were iPhones, with the Pro and standard models leading the pack (the Plus was gone). Despite the good numbers, Apple is experiencing a definite sales decline. A decline that needs to be stopped.

Part of the plan is to focus on the most profitable models, reducing reliance on China for their production. With 2026 approaching, all eyes are on the iPhone 17 Air, a “standard” iPhone with a revolutionary design designed to boost sales.
