In an unexpected turn during Bilawal Bhutto’s visit to Peshawar today, key members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have announced their decision to break ties with the party.
Former federal minister Arbab Alamgir and his wife Asma Alamgir have formally announced their departure, citing dissatisfaction with the party leadership and internal conflicts.
Asma Alamgir has also resigned from the post of Central Deputy Information Secretary of the party. In an exclusive interview with Hum News, he expressed dissatisfaction over the party’s performance and highlighted the growing discord among its members.
Emphasizing the internal strife within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch of the party, he said, “The party is suffering losses due to incompetent leadership and with a heavy heart Arbab Alamgir and I have decided to part ways.”
He elaborated on the long-standing issues raised with party leaders regarding the deteriorating situation. Despite informing them several times, they regret that their concerns were not addressed.
“Party leaders have been informed about the situation several times, but unfortunately no attention was paid to our complaints,” he said.
