At least three people killed in Israeli bombing in Lebanon – DW – 11/03/2024

The Lebanese Health Ministry announced that this Sunday (11/03/2024) three people were killed and nine others injured by an Israeli bombing in Haret Saida, a densely populated area near the southern city of Sidon.

According to the unit, the attack was not preceded by an Israeli evacuation notice.

Also this Sunday, an Israeli bomb hit the city of Ghazieh, south of Sidon, the official Lebanese news agency Ani reports. The ministry did not give any information about the number of deaths in this case.

Other attacks took place in an area near a government hospital in Tebnin, a town in the Bint Jbeil district in the south of the country.

The mayor said that the health complex has suffered significant damage and may be taken out of service as a result, but no official decision has yet been made on the matter.

The conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which began in October 2023 in the Gaza Strip, has spread to Lebanon, where Israeli forces have been carrying out massive bombings against Hamas ally Hezbollah since September 23.

More than 1,900 people have been killed in Israeli strikes since then, according to a figure based on Lebanese health ministry data.
