Avatar 3 confirms an epic return

They have revealed that one of the fan-favorite characters will return to the movie Avatar 3 (2024).

James Cameron is showing us all the beauty of Pandora, the moon of the gas giant planet Polyphemus. In the first installment, most of the action took place in a wooded area, but in the sequel, the protagonists move to a place with a lot of water and we can see magnificent creatures. One of them is Payakan, a young Tulkun with a tragic story behind. Now, Jon Landau has revealed in The Wrap that Payakan will be returning to Avatar 3.

“I always saw Payakan a bit like Lassie. And I would say this is a story like a boy and his dog, and they’re both outcasts and they need each other. And I thought that Payakan was going to be a character as you describe them. People wouldn’t see that at first. And we had to keep saying that Payakan is a character. And when we would ask people about the characters, Payakan was always on that list and included them, which was unusual. He will return to Avatar 3.”

What will the story of this third installment be about?

For now, we do not know what James Cameron and his writers have planned for the new installments. But it’s clear that the rivalry between Jake (Sam Worthington) and Quaritch (Stephen Lang) will continue to be very important. Although, supposedly now, they will leave the places with water and we will see other biomes and other tribes of the Na’vi, so the scale will be much more global. Since humanity continues to have the big problem that the Earth is dying and they need a new place to go and live.

The theatrical release date of Avatar 3 is December 20, 2024. In addition, we know that the fourth installment will arrive on December 18, 2026 and the fifth on December 22, 2028.
