BAD BEHAVIOR comes to digital platforms • Blazing Minds
We have some more film news this afternoon: Icon Film Distribution presents Bad behaviorAlice Englert’s poignant and funny directorial debutThe power of the dog, dangerous connections) with Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly and BAFTA winner Ben Whishaw. It will be released on digital platforms on February 5th!
Fresh, invigorating and imbued with dark humor. Bad behavior stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly (Beautiful Mind, House of Sand and Fog), BAFTA winner Ben Whishaw (This will hurt, a very English scandal) and Alice Englert (The power of the dog, dangerous connections), making his debut as a director.
Lucy (Connelly), a former child actress, seeks healing from life’s traumas. She goes on a spiritual retreat only for it to be anything but healing: she is easily annoyed by other visitors and wants the attention of new age retreat guru Elon Bello (Whishaw). Even worse, she became destructively obsessed with the retreat’s celebrity guest, a model named Beverly (Dasha Nekrasova, Continuity). As Beverly easily finds “enlightenment”, Lucy’s feelings of insecurity continue to rise to the surface.
During this time, Lucy also tries to contact her adult stuntwoman daughter Dylan (Englert), who is currently on set in New Zealand. Dylan falls into his own obsession: a bad romance with lead actor Elmore, whose insistence on performing stunts will have disastrous consequences. Violent incidents in both women’s worlds force them to come together again to confront their personal demons and their own relationships.
Touching, poignant and deadpan funny, the film made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and usheres in a bold new voice from director Alice Englert.
Bad Behavior will be released on digital platforms on February 5th.
