Barcelona wants to sign the Mexican Julián Araujo

Barcelona is in negotiations with the Los Angeles Galaxy to obtain the loan with option to buy Julián Araujo before the transfer market closes, according to several sources confirmed to ESPN.
The Catalan club has been closely following the evolution of the young Mexican full-back for some time and in recent days decided to intensify contacts to probe his possible signing given the possible departure of Hector Bellerín to Sporting de Portugal.
The sources tell ESPN that Araujo has been talking to his closest friends about the possibility of going to Barcelona for days and he is very excited that the operation can be completed before the transfer window in Spain closes on Tuesday.
The sources indicate ESPN that Araujo would arrive at the Camp Nou with a Barcelona B record but at the club they believe that at 21 he has the potential to break into the first team.
Araujo, who was born in California, has played for both the United States and the Mexican national team but his last game with El Tri was a friendly against Suriname in June 2022.
Barcelona is confident that they can close their transfer before the market closes tomorrow, but sources tell ESPN that it is a complex operation.
On the one hand, Barça must convince the Los Angeles Galaxy to accept his loan and that doesn’t seem easy considering that the player is undisputed in the MLS team.
Besides, the operation also has to be approved by LaLiga. The Catalan team has the salary limit practically outdated and already ESPN reported last week that LaLiga had even refused to register the contract that the Blaugrana club agreed with Gavi last September for the Spanish international to play with the first team.
In this sense, Barça has already lightened its salary mass with the retirement of Gerard Pique and with the departure of Memphis Depay to Atlético de Madrid for three million fixed euros and one in variables. Also, as far as you know ESPNis in advanced negotiations to sell Bellerin to Sporting.
The former Arsenal player would sign for the Portuguese club to replace a Pedro Porro who has already agreed on everything in the absence of a signature to continue his career at Tottenham.
